This is the York Minster. It is the largest medieval gothic cathedral in Northern Europe and the seat of the Archbishop of York, Church of England. Prayers have been offered to God here for almost 1,000 years. Cathedrals have a standard of construction in that the main entrance is on the west (twin towers) with the nave laid out from west to east connecting to the transripts and the east end forming a cross. The Lady Chapel is on the far east end with the choir just past the connection of the cross. To see and learn more, click on this link to visit the Official Website of the York Minster.
