THE HIGHLANDS
OF SCOTLAND

Our next stop was Glamis Castle (pronounced Glams) 50 mile due south, but to get there one takes the A93 through Braemarthen south to Rattray then the A926 east to Alyth then south on B954 to Meigle then A94 east 7 miles to Glamis.

This is the ancestrial home of the Queen Mother Elizabeth (mother of the Queen) and where Princess Margaret Rose was born. It is the home of the 18th Earl of Strathmore and Kinghorne. The current Earl is Michael Fergus Lyon born 1957 and his wife and family of 3 boys. Simon Patrick, Lord Glamis was born 1986 and will be the 19th Earl.

The right button will be activated soon with a history and tour of Glamis Castle.

The forward button continues on through Glamis Castle Grounds and the highlands.

An Index of key sights, stops, B&B's, food and general recommendations is provided at INDEX.
